In Iraqi-Kurdistan, you will find many Syrian families who fled their homeland as refugees, seeking safety in a neighboring nation.
While many have found physical safety in Iraq, they have also found that building a prosperous life is nearly impossible. Work is hard to find, Syrian children struggle to attend public schools that teach in a language they cannot speak, and living conditions are poor, as many landlords take advantage of the families renting from them.
Our long-term workers in Iraqi-Kurdistan, are nurses who love to teach children about God, health, and wholeness.
Each week the HKP team members visit a local home or park and teach 20–30 children about health, first aid, fueling their bodies, exercise, and more, all while pointing to the Lord as the source of Life.
This project is about so much more than health education, food, and fun. It is about raising up the next generation to have hope for their future and to come to know the One who gives hope.
